2010: What An Amazing Year Its Been!

Hello World,

this is my 100th post, and the last day of 2010! What an extraordinary year it has been, with everything I have accomplished within the past twelve months.

I have been blessed to have made it through 2009 (financially) and now I'm finishing up my second year in business, Allen Zaki Photography. I've photographed SOOOOOOOO many people and things in 2010, that I am so proud of, and even more ecstatic for what's to come in 2011!!

Below is a sampling of all the things I've shot in 2010, and I'd like to thank EVERYONE who has helped me accomplish all this great work! My AMAZING TEAMS of artists, all the publicists, celebrities, friends, and family, without whom I couldn't have made it through this year!

Its been an amazing journey, and I know there are only hundreds/thousands of good things to come for me and my business in 2011!!!

New: Eva La Rue for the Cover of BE! Magazine

Above are the images/cover shoot I did for BE! Magazine with CSI: Miami Star Eva La Rue. It was a blast to work with such an amazingly beautiful and talented actress here in Hollywood. We shot this back in June, and it is now the cover of BE! Mag Oct. Issue.

Miss Molly Shea: BE! Magazine March 2010

I had the pleasure last month to photograph the beautiful Molly Shea from E!'s Sunset Tan. She's known as one half of the "Olly Twins" but she is now on her own, and making a name for herself here in Hollywood!

Steam'n Up the Locker Room

Hello World,

I wanted to share with you all a series of images that I created with Timoteo LLC (www.timoteo.net)

I photographed Swedish model Roy Fares and Scandinavian model Jani Kokki, both of which were a joy to photograph, and have amazing physiques to boot!

I am a very lucky artist, I'm able to work with such great people like designer Timoteo Ocampo, and gorgeous models like Roy and Jani. I am working on a book/portfolio called "Le Male" which is a compilation of my male fashion and artistic nude projects. Keep your eyes peeled for a lot more work to come.

Update: February 2010

Hello World,

just a little update. Been busy working on a few projects, primarily trying to catch up on post-production. The images from the "Gap" inspired shoot are coming out very well, and my French Chic Black and White shoot is going into post via my retoucher Joseph Alexander.

I recently shot a lookbook for new menswear line James Larence (Monday Feb 8th).

Today I shot a casting call for an ad campaign (which I can't disclose). It was my first casting call of that proportion, for a major ad company, I shot over 150 actors/models. It was very interesting to see all the faces and personalities.

Other than that, I'm just trying to keep busy and make money working on new upcoming projects.

NEW LOGO

Hello World,

if you haven't noticed already by the header on my blog, there is a NEW LOGO for ALLEN ZAKI PHOTOGRAPHY.

Its a new year and a new me! This is the new logo (above), co-designed with help from my friend and designer Don Valenzuela. It represents the "old-school" wax seal, with the new age feeling of shutter release cables surrounding the "Z" in the center.

Although I'm a contemporary photographer, I still do shoot with polaroids and film when I can. Which is seen as "old-school" or an art form now a days. So my logo represents the combination of contemporary photography with a twist of classic style.

Update: "Gap" Advertising Inspired Shoot

About three weeks ago, the beginning of January, I worked on a fashion shoot inspired by the 2007 "Gap Inc" advertisements. I'm trying to update my portfolio with images that are more Advertising Based, and less editorial. Reaching out to larger clients is what 2010 is all about for Allen Zaki Photography.

BTS: Snaps from French Chic Fashion Shoot

I had an AMAZING time working with my new GLAM SQUAD yesterday: Toni Ferrara (stylist), Mathias Alan (makeup) and Danee Smith (Hair).

We did this awesome French ChicBlack and White shoot in my friend Phil Sanchez's studio in Downtown LA. We worked with fabulous model Anna @ Photo[genics and Jadrianne "JJ" @ Models International. We shot over 13 looks, and will be sending it out for publication soon. The story is based on Black and White's its going to be HOT!

Happy New Year! Its officially 2010 (obviously) and its a new Allen Zaki Photography! I've designed a new logo, and I'm working on the new website, and I'm also SHOOOOTING a lot!
