Gelleed Magazine Dec Issue BTS

Its finally THAT time of year....WINTER! I don't know about you, but I love the cold weather. It's FREEZING cold in LA (for LA temps), and its wonderful. just a quick updated piece of news. I've recently been featured on OhLALAMag.com for my images of Ryan Adames. He's a TRIPLE THREAT: Singer, Dancer, and Actor. Check him out on www.ohlalamag.com second page, or type his name in.

He's a great friend of mine, extremely talented, and was recently in the newly released Eating Out 3: All You Can Eat, now on DVD.

Hello World!

Its Allen Zaki, and I just wanted to let you know I'm officially changing my company over to ZAKI photography, therefore there is a lot of changing going on behind the scenes as I type this blog entry.

Oddz Magazine Fall Fashion Editorial

Hello World,

Its been awhile, I've been extremely busy shooting a lot of different things, and working on a bunch of new projects. One of which was an editorial for online magazine Oddz. We shot in Downtown LA (Phil Sanchez's studio, www.philsanchezphoto.com) where we did a Fall Editorial spread about furs and leathers, with the story/plot about an artist and her muse. Below I've posted the vimeo video of the shoot, its a BTS look at what took place and the final images produced on the shoot.

Rindy Sumners

This is a personal posting, not having to do with my photography, but my life!

my dearest friend, and artist Rindy Sumners passed away yesterday in Sacramento, CA in a car accident. At this time I don't know exactly what happened, or the details. However, I know that she left this life too soon!

We went to high school together in Sacramento, and she was one of my closets friends, who was always supportive of me, and helped me to get to where I'm at today in my career! She was a very talented musician, vocalist and overall AMAZING person. She was one of the most outgoing, jovial, happy people I know to date, and she and I would always have fun doing whatever. I consider her to be one of my best friends, and I will deeply miss her. Its still surreal to hear that she is no longer with me in this life, I am in shock.

I will always remember her, and keep her in my heart, prayers, and dreams. There will never be such a great person as my dear friend Rindy. I love you Rindy!

My deepest sympathy and condolences to the Sumners' family, and Rick and Sandy (her parents).

These images are from a shoot I did with actor Nikko Masterpietro this past April. His agent didn't end up using them, therefore I hadn't gotten around to retouching them until yesterday. I liked his look and the styling.

So, I decided that my team and I should at least be able to use them because they did such a great job.

Update: Prima J

Prima J is the talented girl group duo of Jessica and Janelle. I was fortunate enough to photograph them last month in Rosemead, Ca.

Above you are seeing the final images from out PR shoot. The two ladies were amazing to shoot, they definitely know how to "bring it" to set! I love their Latina sassiness, and their spontaneity. It was a great shoot, and I would love to work with them again. One thing that I will remember from this shoot is how close I felt to the girls, I felt like I knew them as people and not just the celebrity singers they are seen as. They are very down to earth, and that came across in the images and just talking with them.

Thanks to my wonderful "Glam Squad" Shaun G (makeup) and Johnny Chavez (wardrobe) for your amazing talents, and to Prima J and their manager Jayson Sanchez for helping to get the shoot together.

So, I've been gone out of the country, but before I left for Mexico I released the new images of Natalie Mejia on my website, along with a few new images here and there.

On the Road....Its been awhile.

I'm traveling to Mexico, Cabo San Lucas to be exact. I left Friday evening, and I'm now in Phoenix, AZ with a 13 hour lay over! :( Not the best thing to be doing, however, at least I'm sitting on a comfortable chair, and had a pretty good meal. Its hotter than a whore in church in this city though. I just felt a little of the outdoor air, and it was in the low 100s. The pilot on the flight said the local weather was 104º F and it was 7pm!

Anywho, the point of this entire trip was to catch up with the family, and get some shooting in while I'm in Mexico. I'm trying to build my lifestyle portfolio, and bring some cool new images for my book.

So, I'll try and keep blogging about the trip if time permits, and see where that goes. Otherwise, look forward to seeing the end result of the trip, IMAGES!

Featured: OhLALAMag.com model Calle Eriksson

Okay, so about a month or two ago I had the pleasure of shooting Swedish import Calle Eriksson in a Silverlake, CA loft. We did a test shoot with clothing designer Timoteo (www.timoteo.net), and his marketing/styling assistant Vinnie. The shoot was based around a sexy, sultry, and wet look, using Timoteo's clothing to guide the way.

We did just that!

The images came out amazingly beautiful, and Calle is a GORGEOUS model, and great to work with...which made my job of selecting the images very hard to do. But, its always better to have a hard time selecting because there are too many good images, than not having enough to choose from (so I'm not complaining!)

I just recently submitted them to www.OhLALAMag.com, which I am their current feature for June 24th, 2009. You can check out the images, and see for yourself how hot Calle is, and how well the shoot went.

It's great to get the exposure and have people view the images on a blog that features great photography (of hot men) and be apart of that community. So, thank you to OhLALAMag, and to Timoteo and Vinnie, and to my friend and colleague Ron Fellows II for assisting me on such a great shoot.

Ambre Lake: VH1's Rock of Love 2 Shoot

On Tuesday, June 23rd, I had the pleasure of working with Miss Ambre Lake of VH1's Rock of Love 2.

The shoot was for a PR shoot we did with her, my go-to team Johnny Chavez (stylist), Shaun Garcia (Make-up) and Etienne Ortega (Hair). We photographed her in Rosemead, CA. It was a blast, the clothing was awesome (thanks Johnny), the music was blasting, and we kept cool from the sun inside the theater.

"Prima J" Photo shoot in Rosemead California

Hey Everyone,

I has the pleasure of shooting Prima J, a girl duo of amazing talent. They are amazing to work with, have amazing voices, and know how to have fun on set.

We photographed them at their former high school in Rosemead,CA. It was cool for them to see what the school looks like since they've graduated, and how far they've come since graduating.

Update: Headshots

On Monday I was SOOO tired, but I got up and out of bed and shot some headshots. Now normally I would say "Ewww Grey Sky!" however, on Monday, I was saying "Thank goodness there for those Grey Skies!" Because, the lighting was beautiful for shooting portraits in natural light. All you need is an apple-box, a reflector, and a person= Headshots!

So, that's what I did, I photographed Denise Vasquez (www.denisevasquez.blogspot.com), a VERY talented artist, musician, and writer. Please check out her blog, she just did a write up about our shoot.
